SPA Valley Railway 2011
In 2011 the Spa Valley Railway was able to commence passenger operations between Eridge and Groombridge enabling connections through to Tunbridge Wells West once again.
30th April 2011 saw ex-Southern Region Crompton 33 063
in use (along with a copper-capped kettle of foreign origin).
Here 33 063 arrives at Tunbridge Wells
West with the 12:30 departure from Eridge.
Alongside is a former 4-Big buffet car now providing a good cuppa, sausage rolls etc!
The following photographs are of 33 063
at Eridge after its arrival with the
13:20 from Tunbridge Wells West. The kettle can be seen in the distance.
Finally, in-works at Tunbridge Wells
West is ‘East Sussex’ 3D unit 1317. In later years
these became referred to as ‘Oxted’ units having gained the class designation ‘207’.
