View towards Dalston Junction and Broad Street on Sunday, 19th February 1961. Although fourth-rail electrified, the ex-North London Railway services from Richmond to Broad Street via Willesden Junction and Dalston Junction used 3rd rail stock.
Besides being an electrified suburban line, this still remains a major route for cross-London freight. In the distance can be seen the overbridge carrying the Metropolitan and ex-Great Central six tracked line into Baker Street and Marylebone

Victoria
From near to the barrier of Platforms 14 /15, a train from Tunbridge Wells West has just arrived at Victoria (Central Section) Station on Saturday, 13th May 1961.
Unlike all the other services into Victoria (Central Section) which were electrified before World War 2, the Oxted line trains remained steam-worked into the early sixties, often by 'imported' LMS-type and BR Standard classes. BR Standard 4MT no. 80148 was built at Brighton 29th November 1956 only to be withdrawn 14th June 1964.
